How to Use Reiki for Space Clearing

Spring is a perfect time to do a space clearing ritual. It is a wonderful way to  reset your home or room for new beginnings and new growth.

Have you ever gone somewhere and immediately felt that the space felt stagnant, or brought you down and made you feel tired, anxious, or sad? Conversely, have you ever been in a home or room or property that felt uplifting, clear and energizing?

Illness, depression, chaos, anger, arguments and disharmony all affect not just our mind/body/spirit but also leave energetic residue in the spaces we live in.

As I became more aware of subtle energies in my many decades of energy healing, both positive and negative, I have given way more attention to not only regularly clearing myself energetically, but to purifying all my environments to keep me humming along at the highest vibrations more easily.

Clearing space energetically is a good habit and one that can help you move on in all facets of your life with more ease. Everything is energy, and has a specific frequency or vibration. Our thoughts, feelings, beliefs and overall consciousness is either high or low vibe, and it is not just registered in our physical, mental and emotional bodies, but is reflected in our homes and environments as well.

The most important aspect of any cleansing ritual is to restore balance, whether energetically or in the more mundane physical sense. Chi (energy in all things) is all about balance – learning and moving forward and working to maintain harmony internally and externally.

While there are many rituals to clear stagnant chi, using incense or sage, candles, bells, and other elements, and anyone can clear spaces, I want to focus on the specific ways and benefits of using Reiki.

Reiki, or Universal Energy, is a powerful way to not only clear out the old stagnant vibes or chi and bring in fresh new energy in your home or office environment, but Reiki also adds another important dimension.

Reiki is connecting you and your space to the highest vibrational Universal Energy from Source and thus creates “sacred space” that is intangible yet can be perceived as grace-filled, light, peaceful, harmonious and healing.

Space Clearing Ritual using Reiki Level I

If you are attuned to Reiki Level I you can clear any space with these steps:

• Ground your energy into the Earth: using the image of a grounding cord or tube extending from the base of your spine into the center of the earth. Set your intention to connect to the earth essence for balance and centeredness.
• Connect with Reiki energy: Use Gassho meditation with your hands in prayer position in front of your heart center, and bring your focus on the tips of middle fingers. Call in Reiki energy and fill up your whole body.
• Fill up your energy field with Reiki by breathing it out all around you into your personal energy or auric field.
• Set your intention: “May only the highest vibrational energies (love, light, joy, harmony etc) fill this space now.”
• Beam Reiki to each wall: Extend your hands out to each wall till it feels clearer, lighter and then
• Smooth corners from top to bottom: Sweep your hands from top to bottom of each corner to clear any remaining stagnant energy. Ground the energies into earth by discharging energy into floor by dusting off your hands ; or send it out window into ground , or into a body of water.
• Rub your hands to clear the energy connection and “Reiki off”.

Space Clearing Ritual using Reiki Level II

If you are attuned to Reiki Level II you can clear any space with these steps:

• Follow Steps 1-4 above
• Add the Empowerment symbol to each wall: Draw it once and repeat the mantra 3x
• Ask to know when Reiki is complete: For me, I visualize light filling the Empowerment symbol on each wall until it seems full, but any way you use your intuition to sense each wall is complete is fine.
• Repeat sweeping the energy in each corner: Use your hands sweeping from top to bottom in each corner and ground and release any stagnant energies into the floor (or outside).

Space Clearing from a Distance with Reiki II

With Level II Reiki, you can also do Space Clearing from anywhere using the Long Distance protocol and the above steps! You just set up a Distance healing using the appropriate symbol, and visualize sending Reiki to each space as outlined above using the Empowerment symbol.

Once you have applied Reiki to each wall and corner in every room you want to cleanse, then you can continue with any other type of space clearing ritual if desired, but it truly is not necessary.

Reiki is a complete space clearing ritual that has profound benefits for ensuring your environments remain very high frequency to support your optimal well-being, success and harmony.
